LuxuReview: Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

Those of you who follow my instagram know that I went to Stylist Live 2016, which took place in October. There was a really great goodie bag for everyone who was lucky enough to get one of the VIP bags. The bag included a deluxe sample of the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, so I thought I would share my view on this product.

I normally do a 12 step Korean facial cleansing process but I love trying new things and new products. One of these days I’ll have to make a video about my routine. I decided to put this into the cleansing portion of my routine because, while I do use a heavy exfoliator (Clinique Exfoliating Scrub), I don’t use a regular exfoliation. I tend to use the heavy cleanser about twice a week instead.

The product smells amazing and was not grainy like a lot of exfoliation products. You have to rub the cream over your face and then wipe off the cream with the reusable towelette that comes with the pack. It’s recommended that users use different parts of the cloth for different areas of their face. I think most of the exfoliation probably comes from using the towel.

I rubbed the cream on my face and over my eyes. Then I used the cloth to wipe away the cream. It feels a bit like using cold cream and the process is much nicer because of the water rinse at the end. Cold cream always feels a bit too thick but this is lighter. Sadly though, it did not completely remove my mascara and I ended up having to use my Shu Uemura POREfinist cleansing oil.

I ended up using the product again, not as a facial cleanser at the end of the day but as part of a weekend cleansing/mask binge. This time, I found it more useful because I was not relying on it to do anything heavy duty at the end of the day.

My review of the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

The verdict

Overall this is a nice product but I need products that work as hard as I do. I tend to go for the most intense products I can find in each category I use. My creams are heavy duty, my cleansers take off every bit of makeup. This is a nice product but I need a bit more. One thing I will keep using is the cloth. I think it can help give me a bit of mild exfoliation during the week. I liked the action of scrubbing with the cloth and it is great at helping to remove face masks.

The Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser comes in other scents including rose and lavender.
