I was on the phone with my Dad today and we were chatting about how the weather is really starting to turn cold…summer is officially over. I have a lot of items that I really enjoy and don’t want to have to relegate them to the back of my closet for the next couple of months. To that end, I pulled out a favourite outfit and paired it with a Rick Owens Mélange Coat (£723). The coat is sold out but you can add it to your wish list for an update when it comes back in stock or check out these alternatives – a more affordable option from Marks and Spencer or this military style beauty from Philosophy.
I tend to take photos of clothing that I own already and they may not be on sale. In my view, fashion photography can give women ideas of what to buy. More importantly though, it should help them make better use of their own wardrobe!
Some of you may have seen on my instagram page that when my birthday came around this year I got very lucky and found some nude patent leather Valentino Rockstuds on sale for 40% off. It was a sign! If you like the pair below, you can find them on StyleBop (£640 – sorry, there is not a sale on the site right now). It is a light pink colour called “Nude”.
I paired it with some Banana Republic boyfriend jeans (these are a similar pair) and a camisole from H&M. The top I am wearing was purchased a couple of years ago but you can find some similar options here and here.
You can see the leaves on the ground already and I had these photos taken in August. I started noticing it on my runs through Hyde Park. I knew it was time to think about packing up my summer items but I wanted to extend their reach just a bit longer!
This is the back of the tank top. I love that it is open to some extent and has beautiful detailing. It looks good from every angle. Here is another closeup of the front of the top but now with the Rick Owens coat. That lipstick is a Clinique colour called “Afterparty”.
I love this coat because I can take it off in a restaurant and show off the top or wear it as a sweater/cover up.
This is what the coat looks like when it is closed. There is something about a cowl neck that I just find so attractive and beautiful. The zipper is quite catchy too.
Here is a closeup of my earrings. I bought these in the US from a jewelry designer called Mabel Chong. She designs a lot of really cool and colourful pieces. When I bought these at her Noe Valley shop (now closed) she mentioned that she was designing bright pieces because the times and economy seemed dark. I pull these out when I need some sunny California memories. Check out this option and these….LOVE these ones.
